Royal Dash was a game that I derived from both Chess and Candyland. All of my movement cards are different pieces in Chess and their movements are closely derived from it as well. The Candyland aspect of cards being played was what I initially wanted to do, which was pull one card from a pile and have to use that card, however after playtesting I decided to make it five cards that the player holds at all times. After further playtests I began to add more and more different types of cards and mechanics until I got to the point it is at. Overall, I think it is pretty fun, especially with more people.
